Differences between plant cells and animal cells.

In class we saw that the main difference is related to the cell structure.

Cell walls provide structure and plant cells have this external structure. Our skeleton , in the human body does this function and supports our body.

Cambridge University Press.

In class we did this structures with our hands and it’s easiest to do it with the box or with the glass box (acuarium). See the examples.

Insects and arthropods. Living things

We are studying the invertebrates and there is a big group called ARTHROPODS, these are all the insects you can see and last year in an excursion we could see some of them.  Some of those are from our stick bugs.

On this picture you can see the skin of a Mantis after it changes the external exoeskeleton. This is called the molting process.

Getting ready the Acuarium at school.

We had to leave ready our acuarium these days and feed automatically the fish.

That’s why some of our sessions have been by the acuarium

  • We cleaned the tank.
  • We supervised the temperature. 25° C.
  • We cleaned the filter. Cleaning all the different layers of filtering sponges and rocks.
  • We planted some plants.
  • We have programmed correctly the light hours.
  • And the most important thing is to leave the automatic dispenser of food ready to feed the fish twice a day.

Here you can see some of this process and care our  animals need.
